Dairy Products
No dairy product is a species specific food, Dogs would not have eaten
milk or cheese. Also, dogs do not have the enzyme, lactase, that is needed
to breakdown lactose, the sugar in milk. Some individuals are able to
tolerate dairy products.
Many pets with allergies have allergies to dairy products including
yogurt, which is usually mis labelled as being nutritious. If they aren't
allergic to the foreign things in milk like the proteins, chemicals and
hormones, then the dairy triggers allergies to other things.
Dogs like milk and cheese, yes I do give cheese regular to my dogs, and
they do have drinks of milk, they love it, but be warned that dairy products
might not be tolerated by your dog.
